About OstoCompare

OstoCompare is run by someone who lives with an ostomy (a colostomy).

The site is for new ostomates, people paying cash, Medicare users and caregivers in the US. It lists product facts and links to where each came from. It doesn't tell anyone what to use: fit depends on your stoma, skin and body, and a WOC/ostomy nurse is the right person to help with that.

Methodology

• Products: 260 products (Pouches: 142, Accessories: 79, Skin barriers: 39) from 12 brands. One entry per manufacturer product page; each size or code is a row on the product page.
• Specs and codes for Hollister, Convatec and Coloplast come from their US product pages, checked Nov 4, 2026. For smaller brands we used the retailer listing and link the manufacturer's site. Some Hollister size descriptions come from the retailer listing for the same product code, and are labeled that way.
• HCPCS codes are shown only where the manufacturer page states them, or, for smaller brands, where the retailer page states them (labeled). We don't guess codes. A blank means we didn't find a stated code.
• Barrier type (flat, convex, soft convex, moldable) comes from the product name. If the name doesn't say convex or moldable, we list it as Flat. Check the manufacturer page.
• Category, system and pouch type come from the product name and the manufacturer's page.
• Prices are cash prices we saw on one retailer's pages (Vitality Medical) on Nov 4, 2026, matched by manufacturer code. They are per the retailer's own unit, which may differ from the manufacturer's box. We only show prices we saw, and many products have none yet. We left out one listing whose price looked inconsistent.
• Features are taken from manufacturer pages.
• Medicare information comes from CMS (LCD L33828, Policy Article A52487, Article A55426, the HCPCS file) and Medicare.gov; see the Medicare guide.
• The full dataset is available as JSON and CSV.

How the site is funded

Retailer links are marked as sponsored and may become affiliate links later. Brands can pay a flat fee for a clearly labeled listing (see Feature your brand). Payment never changes product data or comparisons. We don't accept pay-per-referral deals with suppliers that bill Medicare.
